How to get Stamp Duty Refund & Check the Status
In the following situations, a citizen can get the refund of Stamp Duty –
- excess stamp duty or penalty paid,
- cancellation of the registered agreement,
- return of unused stamp paper,
- cancellation of the document where judicial stamp paper is required but non-judicial used or vice a Versa or
- stamp duty refund as per court order.
There is a website where a citizen can file an application for a refund, but, the complete process is not online. After filling an online application, on the same day, the applicant must visit the concerned office for providing the offline application. Later the status of the application can be tracked online with one unique “Refund Code”, this code gets generated at the time of filling an online application. Steps –
- visit – https://appl2igr.maharashtra.gov.in/refund/
- Click “Refund Application”,
- Fill up the form and you will get a unique code which will be needed for application reference and tracking the status,
- Download the form for offline application,
- Visit the concerned office and submit the offline application.
